April is all about bunnies and hoppity-hops. Why wouldn't I put a pretty pink bunny on Month 4? All puffy paint this time.
Month 5 - May
When you're in Arizona, Cinco de Mayo is kind of a big deal. So are cacti and sombreros! I used my Cricut to create a stencil with cardstock and spongebrushed fabric paint onto the fabric.
Month 6 - June
I couldn't resist this cuteness. Pirate Octopus!!!
Bonus - Mother's Day
Of course, I had to make a special onesie for Mother's Day.
Sometime last year, I came across a pin that featured artwork made of cross stitching with yarn on a pegboard. I loved the look of it, but as an avid cross stitcher, I disliked how sparse they appeared. The yarn left quite a bit of white space showing through. After some brainstorming, I decided to give ribbon a try.
I had two cuts of pegboard sitting around. Once upon a time ago, I had dreamed of using them to organize my crafts. That never came to fruition, so now I had two cuts of 2.5' x 3' cuts of pegboards just begging for new life.
Also convenient, I had quite a load of ribbon lying around. Not even to complete the boards, mind you. I'm not a hoarder. But enough to inspire the design and put me on the right track.
* If you like the wave design, the printable patterns are below.
Aside from the ribbon, all you need is tape (painters and packaging) and {optional} a yarn needle.

Need the step-by-step? Keep reading!
1. Unravel your entire spool of ribbon. The whole thing.
2. Secure one end of the ribbon. Either thread the end through a yarn needle or create an aglet using packaging tape. {Yes, an aglet is a real thing. Just ask Phineas and Ferb.}
3. Secure the opposite end to the back of the pegboard using the painters tape.
4. Start stitching using a standard cross stitch.
5. When you've completed your rows or run out of ribbon, secure the tail on the back of the board by running the end under the stitches. Cut off any loose or excess ends.
6. Repeat and complete the whole design. Is the back of your board ugly? Don't worry. So is mine!
7. To hang, add your favorite hanging hooks. Pegboards are typically only 1/4" thick, so be wary of how deep your screws are.
